Review of Developments in Geometric Modelling for High Resolution Satellite Pushbroom Sensors

چکیده
The geometric modelling of satellite imaging sensors is a fundamental step in the photogrammetric processing chain, and becomes crucial in multi-source data fusion and analysis. This paper seeks to report the main characteristics and developments of optical pushbroom sensors for photogrammetric and remote sensing applications, and to provide a critical review of approaches used for their geometric modelling.

Precise Mapping of High Resolution Satellite Images without Ground Control Points
As one way of removing the requirement of ground control points (GCPs) for precise mapping of high resolution satellite images (HRSIs), this paper proposes to use existing low-resolution elevation dataset. We adapted DEM matching technique, originally proposed to solve absolute orientation of aerial images from perspective sensors, for establishing absolute orientation of HRSIs from pushbroom s...
متن کاملAn Operational System for Sensor Modeling and Dem Generation of Satellite Pushbroom Sensor Images
This paper introduces an operational and extensible system for sensor modeling, triangulation, DEM extraction and stereo mapping of space borne pushbroom sensor images. The methods for sensor modeling and triangulation are introduced with the consideration of the newer sensors such as EROS A1, ALOS PRISM, FORMOSAT2 and THEOS satellite systems. They are based on the collinearity equation and bun...

متن کاملA Generic Pushbroom Sensor Model for High-resolution Satellite Imagery Applied to Spot 5, Quickbird and Alos Data Sets
A new generic pushbroom sensor model for high-resolution satellite images is presented. The sensor orbit and attitudes are modelled by splines. In order to determine the parameters of the orbit and attitude splines, direct observations for the satellite orbits and attitudes that are provided by the data vendors in metadata files are considered. As these direct observations are usually contamina...
متن کاملAutomatic Determination of the Optimum Generic Sensor Model Based on Genetic Algorithm Concepts
Generic sensor models (GSMs) are comprehensive mathematical models by which different geometric structures of satellite images could be modeled in order to establish the connection between image and object spaces. Nevertheless, as they are mathematical models, rather than physical models, it is difficult to determine which term and order of GSMs can provide the best result. Therefore, conventio...
